Acceptance of these terms

By using freestltogcode.com (the "Site" or "Service"), you agree to these Terms and Conditions and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site. If you use it on behalf of a company or other organization, you confirm you have authority to accept these terms for it.

The service

STLToGcode is a free, browser-based tool that converts STL 3D models into G-code. Slicing runs on your own device using the open-source CuraEngine, and the results are provided to you as a downloadable file. Printer and material profiles are provided as starting points and may not match your exact machine, firmware or filament.

The Service is offered as is, at no charge, and is not a substitute for professional judgment or for the documentation supplied with your printer.

Printing safety

You are solely responsible for deciding whether generated G-code is safe and suitable. In particular, you should:

• Confirm the printer profile, build volume, temperatures, speeds and start/end commands match your machine.
• Review the toolpaths and settings, and watch the first layers of a new file.
• Never leave a printer running unattended, and keep working smoke or fire protection nearby.
• Follow your printer and filament manufacturers' safety instructions, including ventilation.

Your models and output

You keep all rights you have in the STL files you open and in the G-code you generate. Because processing happens in your browser, we do not receive, store or claim any license to your models.

You are responsible for having the right to use, slice and print any model you work with, including respecting copyright, licenses and any applicable laws. Do not use the Service to produce items that are unlawful or intended to cause harm.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in breach of these terms.
• Attempt to disrupt, overload, probe or gain unauthorized access to the Site or its hosting.
• Use automated means to load the Site at a volume that degrades it for others.
• Copy or republish the Site's own text, design or branding in a way that suggests you are us.

Nothing here limits the rights you receive under the open-source licenses that apply to the components described below.

Intellectual property and open source

The Site's original text, design, layout and branding are owned by STLToGcode and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Slicing is powered by CuraEngine, used under the AGPL-3.0-or-later license through the open-source cura-wasm project. Other components, such as Three.js, are used under their own open-source licenses. Those licenses govern those components, and source and license terms are available from their projects, including github.com/Ultimaker/CuraEngine.

Third-party names

STLToGcode is made independently and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Cura, Ultimaker, PrusaSlicer, Bambu Lab or any printer, filament or software maker. Product names, logos and brands are the property of their respective owners and are used only to identify compatible hardware and software.

No warranty

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. This includes warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, non-infringement, and that the Service or its output will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for your printer. Estimates of print time and filament use are approximations only.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, STLToGcode and the people behind it will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, materials, time, or damage to equipment or property, or personal injury arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service or any G-code it produces. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greatest extent the law allows. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence where the law does not permit that exclusion.

Changes and availability

We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, including printer profiles, features and the Site itself, and we may restrict access to prevent abuse. We do not promise that the Service will always be available.

Privacy

How information is handled is described in our Privacy Policy. In short, your models are processed in your browser and are not uploaded to us.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Site's operator is based, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. This does not affect any mandatory consumer rights you have under the laws of the place where you live.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date above shows the latest version, and continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
